Many studies have demonstrated that reading books to children from the earliest ages have long-term benefits on social, language, reading and later academic success. Sova (2016) found that parent-child interactions with children’s books provided the best environment for language learning - parents used more words per minute than in other play situations & used a wider variety of vocabulary with book play.
