Katy has over 11 years experience working with children in Australia and the United Kingdom.

She has experience providing assessment, collaborative goal setting and intervention to children with a wide range of disabilities and difficulties. Katy is passionate about empowering children and families to achieve the results and changes that are most important to them and make a difference to their every day lives.

Key approaches we use include Sensory integration, Sensory Processing, DIR Floortime, Wilbarger Therapressure Protocol, The Alert Program, Behavioural Approach to Toileting and Skill Development and the SOS approach for feeding difficulties.

Katy has extensive experience working within teams. She started Kids Play to be able to provide Occupational Therapy in a location with Speech Therapists and Psychologists to enable a collaborative approach. Katy has worked within main stream schools, special schools childcare centres, kindergartens and preschools to support children’s inclusion and success.

Katy has a specialist interest in children who are picky eaters and problem feeders. She works with families and children to develop children’s participation in mealtimes, independence in eating and broadening the range of foods and textures they will incorporate in their diet.  Katy works closely with SpeechNet SpeechNet Speech Pathology to form the Brisbane Feeding Clinic.  This clinic supports Newborns to Adolescents with feeding, swallowing and eating concerns.   

Occupational Therapy Help with Toileting Difficulties at the Brisbane Clinic 

Katy’s second special interest area is developing children’s toileting skills. Many children have difficulty learning to use the toilet, have frequent accidents or avoid using the toilet. 10% of children in Prep continue to have frequent accidents and need extra help to build their skills and confidence to independently manage their bowel and bladder. Katy supports families to address the underlying causes and empowers children to successfully keep their pants dry.

Rebecca is an experienced Occupational Therapist committed to working with children, families, teachers and other therapists

Rebecca began her career working in adult neuro-rehabilitation working with clients with behavioural, continence and muscle tone issues. After one year in this field she decided to follow her true passion of working with children and their families within the private sector and has been doing so ever since.

Rebecca is committed to providing holistic client-centered services and working collaboratively with family members, caregivers, teachers and other therapists. She believes that everyone should be well educated on the needs of the child in order to achieve the best outcome possible.

Rebecca has a particular interest in working with children who have sensory processing difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, motor coordination difficulties and developmental delays. She also has a special interest in working with children who are experiencing difficulties with toileting and handwriting to improve their skills.

Rebecca is passionate about assisting children to become independent in all their occupational roles, whether it be in play, reading, writing, dressing, toileting or basically anything that children want or need to do.The key approaches Rebecca uses include Sensory Processing, DIR Floortime, The Alert Program, Zones of Regulation, Behavioural Approach to Toileting and Positive Parenting.
